Who is Stargazer Studio?
Filip Rastovic, Software Engineer
I’ll write in first person here. There’s also another website: filiprastovic.com where you can learn more about me. If you’re too lazy to go there I’ll write a bit here as well.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering. My professional interests are mostly in web development. During the last 10 years since I’ve been in the industry I developed few video games as well, designed 3D graphics for Google and Johnsons & Johnsons as a freelancer and built websites for both large enterprises such as Tipalti and a lot of small startups (over 50+ different clients on Upwork).
I’m from Serbia, South Eastern Europe. Since 2007 I knew it’ll be possible for me to work with the best companies in the western world utilising the power of the internet. All while living in Serbia. After university I found a remote job as a junior web developer and have been working remotely ever since.
When I’m not building websites and apps, these days I’m mostly: playing Path of Exile or World of Warcraft, trying to hit the gym at least 3 times a week, piloting a FPV drone or playing guitar. I also spend a lot of time with my family (I’m a husband and a father as well).
My Work
I’m a registered entrepreneur here in Serbia, my clients treat me as an independent contractor, altho I very often take on long term contracts and act as an extension of their team.
When it comes to web development, software engineering, game development, graphic design or anything technology related, I can speak for days about it. If you like to listen to a passionate guy speaking about tech you can check out my youtube channel I‘m not that active at the time of writing this but I plan to do it.
I can very vividly remember, as a kid I played a Sega Genesis in our living room, I was wondering: “How is this made? Who are the people who do this for a living”. As I learned about software this puzzle started to unravel and I’m forever grateful I live in the world where information is so easily accessible to me.
Another memory of mine is in kindergarten, I remember drawing little buttons and interfaces on a piece of paper, talking to it as it was a pager, little communications device popular in the 90s and early 2000s. It’s so funny to me that today I get to design and develop these screens and buttons.
