Tutor Doctor

Tutor Doctor franchises offer in-home, one-on-one tutoring for students from kindergarten through college. The Ontario-based company was founded in 2000 and began franchising in 2003. They needed a landing page for a new marketing campaign.

The marketing team wasn't satisfied with their existing landing pages. Overly colourful branding — designed to appeal to students — was distracting parents and tutors (the actual decision-makers) from the conversion elements. The pages felt busy, cluttered, and off-target for the audience they were trying to convert.

After analysing Tutor Doctor's website and old landing pages, the diagnosis was clear: the branding felt aimed at children, not the parents and tutors who would actually fill in the form. Too colourful, too intense, too distracting.

My approach was to stay within the same brand guidelines but strip out the colour noise. I tightened the copy, surfaced the company's awards and trust signals prominently, and kept every design decision focused on the conversion action.

The result was a page that felt credible and focused — aimed squarely at a parent who needs to make a decision, not a student browsing.

Is your landing page aimed at the wrong audience?

Sometimes the biggest conversion problem isn't the offer — it's that the design is talking to the wrong person. A landing page redesign starts with diagnosing who's actually making the decision.
